Action Length Guide and Known Variations
Note: Due to the variations among models and tolerances that factories may or may not routinely adhere to, some minor fitting may be required to achieve a perfect fit, even on our fully finished drop in parts.
Although it seldom occurs, you must be willing to make these changes if necessary when your new stock or forearm arrives.
Determine if our Stock will work with your Firearm
The first thing you will need to determine is what action you have. This is done by measuring center to center on the action screws. Action length measurements are shown for each gunstock during the shopping process.
Short-Action Calibers are commonly used for varmints to light-frame, thin skin game. Examples: 222, 223, 22-250, 243, 308, 6.5 Creed Moor, 270 WSM, 300 WSM.
Long-Actions Calibers are used for large-framed heavy animals with tough skin. Examples: 25-06, 270, 280, 7mm, 30-06, 300 win Mag.
